Asamoah Gyan’s GHC150,000 a month as profits from Menzgold halted

Nobody knows if Menzgold’s issue with the Securities and Exchange Commission will ever end although the company had indicated that they would begin active business with the public after 6 days, which ends on September 19, 2018.

People are worried about their investments, with some trying to make panic withdrawals after SEC issued a statement instructing the company to shut down its gold trading business. Reports show lots of Ghanaians have made heavy investments with the company to enjoy their mouth-watering 7-10% interest a month.

A new story on Asembi.com says, Gyan had invested more than Ghc1.5 million in Menzgold and was picking at least Ghc150,000 every month as his interest on his investment.

With Gyan tweeting sometime in March this year that, he has a working relationship with Nana Appiah Mensah, there’s no doubt that, he has some investments there, just like several doctors, lawyers and other high profile personalities in the country.

Curious about how much the Black Stars captain had invested in Menzgold, our source hinted that Asamoah Gyan invested Ghc1.5 million in the company and was raking in Ghc150,000 every month as interests from his investment but its not being a year yet since he started investing with the company.

With Menzgold ‘battling’ it out with the Securities And Exchange Commission to the extent of even bringing in a top British law firm to Ghana to help them, no one knows for certain how long Menzgold will be shut down although the company had assured the public it would start active business again on 19th September 2018.

Looking at Asamoah Gyan’s net worth, although the sum of his investment with Menzgold looks big, he may not be that worried if he loses a part of it should things go wrong.

Well, for now, we cannot conclude on anything and we would have to wait for the coming days to see how things unfold at the company.

Kwesi Appiah announces decision to recall Ayew brothers, Asamoah Gyan for future matches

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed that he will recall the trio of Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Asamoah Gyan for future matches of the Black Stars.

Appiah has explained why he left out three key players for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya that the Black Stars surprisingly lost 1-0 on Saturday.

Even before the Black Stars lost the match to the Kenyans on Saturday, coach Appiah revealed that leaving out the three top players Saturday’s Afcon qualifier would give him the chance to see other talents for the country.

Appiah said on Friday that the three players will be recalled to the Black Stars but he needs to give the chance to other players on periphery of the squad.

The three players did not make Black Stars’ squad for the fixture set for Kasarani Stadium and Appiah did not mince his words when asked why they are not part of the travelling party.

“I have good players, who are capable of doing a good job. It is the time for other young players to show what they can do even for future matches,” Appiah said in Kenya.

“We have a lot of players in Ghana and I am working to understand and know them well.

“It does not mean that the door is closed for the three players, or any other player left out…no, only that we are also giving a chance to others so that we can evaluate the depth and quality of players we have in Ghana.

"We are just trying the new players and that does not mean those left out are not part of us.

Despite missing the aforementioned stars, coach Appiah is still confident that they will get a positive result.

“I have good players in my squad, who can do the job so we are not worried. We have to take our chances and defend well because we are playing away from home.”

Ghana started her campaign on a high note, after defeating Ethiopia 5-0. A brace from Raphael Dwamena and goals apiece from Gyan, Ebenezer Ofori and Boye were enough to hand Walya Antelopes a lesson.

The Black Stars will be aiming at getting maximum points against their hosts Kenya, who went down 2-1 away to Sierra Leone in their opener.

 Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi has been suffering "for some time" with the hamstring problem that forced him to miss Argentina's 2-0 victory over Italy on Friday.

Messi was reduced to the role of spectator at the Etihad Stadium, where goals from Ever Banega and Manuel Lanzini ensured the win for Jorge Sampaoli's men.

The Barcelona superstar has been in typically free-scoring form for the Blaugrana, finding the net eight times in his last six games, with his tally for the season up to 35.

And that run looks even more impressive following Messi's admission of his injury problems, though he is hopeful of being fit to face Spain on Tuesday.

"I have been suffering from this hamstring injury for some time," Messi told TyC Sports before the game.

"I always want to play, but the road to the World Cup is still long. We decided to wait for this game [against Italy] to rest but I'm optimistic about playing against Spain."

Head coach Jorge Sampaoli added in his post-game media conference: "We had planned the game with Leo Messi in the starting line-up, but he had an injury and we preferred him not to take part."

Angel Di Maria, though, will miss the meeting with Spain in Madrid due to a problem with his right thigh.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was replaced by Diego Perotti in the 64th minute of Friday's encounter and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) later confirmed he will sit out the game at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Inter Allies middleman Isaac Twum wary of Bechem United’s threat

Inter Allies midfielder Isaac Twum rues missed chances against Berekum Chelsea and believes the weekend’s league game will be very difficult.

The Capelli Boys will visit Bechem United who have lost two straight games in the league after losing to WAFA at home and Hearts of Oak away.

Twum is of the view that, the hosts won’t take it likely with his team in Sunday’s match, however they’re also poised for the tough encounter.

“We dropped two vital points in mid week, we missed chances and could have won even though we didn’t play at our level. There’s nothing more and we need to move on,” Isaac Twum told the Club’s website.

“Bechem are probably going to come at us because of their previous two results and the fact that they’re playing at home, but we’re going to to find a way to deal with that.”

“We have to get a very strong winning mentality and start killing games, that’s what it takes to win away from home and I think we’ve got enough quality.”

Twum has been operating from midfield in the 8 games he has played this season, wearing the captain’s armband on 7 occasions.
