Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah has said the government is preparing a bill to parliament that will offer tax incentives to investors interested in the ‘One District One Factory’ programme.
He said the bill currently awaiting cabinet’s approval is expected to encourage to take advantage of the programme and to draw more investments into the economy.
Mr Ahenkorah spoke to JoyBusiness at the inauguration of Voltic Ghana Limited’s packaging plant at Akwadum in the Eastern region.
The new $6.5 million plant is expected to process about 24 thousand bottles of water an hour.

The CEO of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa CCBA, Doug Jackson who is on a 3-day working visit to Ghana said the new installation serves as an avenue for sustained economic acceleration for customers, consumers and communities in Ghana.

He said, “our investments in technology and people has been to increase the production capacity of Voltic while providing permanent employment to more than 450 Ghanaians and thousands in our value chain.”
Voltic Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Coca Cola Beverages Africa, CCBA, has two registered water brands- Voltic Natural Mineral Water and Coolpac sachet water.
Voltic’s franchise agreements enable SME’s across the country to produce, package and sell Coolpac sachet water under stringent quality control.
